Get ready it’s coming

I lived for 2 months on my storage/prep my first year. Because of a high vet bill. I think a lot of us are the same we will do anything to save our critters from pain. Yes we can put them down and that’s fairly cheap. But my pets are members of my familiy as well. I was thankful God gave me this test. It was actully easy to go 2 months without shopping for regular meals. That was easy, have you ever gone 2 months without a mocha, some chips, dips, crackers, snacks and popcorn? First thing I did is get 12# of popcorn, real butter and start building a snacker survival kit. I’m learning to make tortillas in to chips, have some salsa and learn to make and can it.
A good thing I did have this option to live 2 months without shopping. Bad thing my snacker got the best of me. Better to plan for it than get blind sided.

I’m sure many of you have dropped an income or on unemployment. You have scrambled on what’s important and what is critical. I don’t have kids but pets. I’m willing to do most anything for my critters. I think children are much higher than pets. I can only imagine what you are going through as parents. $20.00 per month is all it takes to prep, that’s a going Mc D’s or a movie 1 time. We can show you how. I can bitch about snacks cause didn’t prep well, but paid a vet bill about half my monthly income and still paid all my bills and ate well.
Could you take a hit for a bill of over 1/2 of your monthly income and not use credit? and still pay all bills? If not, why not? look to yourself and look at who gave you credit?

I am glad you were able to get your pet taken care of and still stay afloat.Have a nice weekend,Jaime……Rsue…

  2. Well happy thanksgiving to you Rhonda. It was a bit scary, I can't even imagine how it would be for a child or a family member. Nice thing about a fully stocked pantry it gives you options. All the guns and ammo in the world wouldn't have fixed my dog. My 401 died during my illness. The vet was great I stretch the treatment over about 6 weeks. Diagnosis and some treatment and drugs the first batch of bills. A checkup and some more drugs in 2 weeks and then the last of he's healing and a few more drugs to complete the cure. That's when I decided to buy PM (Precious Metals). Sorry to say I suck at saving an emergency fund. (I'm working on it) But Silver is becoming my emergency fund. There are no right answers for everyone. You got to make it work for you and be smart. I can save a 1 oz. silver coin and not a $20.00 bill. Yeah dumb I know. Withdrawing cash and paying my bills had a huge impact in a good way opposed to using a debit card. You can call me all the names in the world. But I know what works for me, and I don't mind testing my notions.

I tend to not be able to save a $20 either and have to treat my silver as my savings as well, so don't be so hard on yourself. My daughter has a spending addiction that just makes it impossible to save cash I'm afraid. I think that the silver is probably wiser in the long run anyways, so you're probably better off for it. I just recently had to sell off a chunk to help one of my kids out. It felt like I was selling one of my kids. That helps me not be in such a hurry to tap into it though. Whatever works for you, go with it.
